Panorama Hills

One of Calgary’s newest and largest suburban communities is Panorama Hills; first established in 1996, the neighbourhood is found at the northern edge of the city. Panorama Hills borders the Country Hills golf course and is also the home of Reverent George McDougall Caim as well as the John A. Lewis Rock Quarry. Due to its’ massive size at a land area of 6.3 square kilometers, the neighbourhood has a population of 22,247 residents with the median household income being $89,044 in 2005. The majority of the properties are single-family detached homes and are complimented by the neighbourhood’s own sports, recreation, entertainment, and shopping opportunities.

There are three public elementary schools serving the area – Panorama Hills, Captain Nichola Goddard, and Alex Munro. From there, public school students continue on through Captain Nichola Goddard junior high and John G. Diefenbaker senior high school. Catholic school students attend St. Jerome elementary, St. Elizabeth Seton, and Notre Dame senior high school.

In the past twenty years, Panorama Hills has established itself as one of Calgary’s premiere communities. There are LRT extensions planned for the community though they are still in development. Calgary Transit has set up bus stops throughout Panorama Hills which will take a resident to wherever they need to be in the city.
