Rutland Park

Bounded by Richmond Road to its’ north, Richardson Way to its’ south, 37^th street to its’ west, and Sarcee Rd to its’ south, the inner city residential neighborhood of Rutland Park is a catch to those looking for a real estate move in the Calgary area. Originally established as a neighborhood in 1952, Rutland Park now maintains a population of just under 2,300 residents on a multitude of different properties including single family detached homes, condominiums, and apartments. It’s a small community but with the pending redevelopment of the old CFB lands by Canada Lands, this promises more growth for Rutland Park in the years to come.

The community is served by its’ own Sir James Lougheed elementary school. Upon graduation here, public school students attend the local A.E. Cross junior high and the Central Memorial senior high school. Meanwhile, Catholic school students have the luxury of attending the nearby St. James elementary and junior high, St. Michael junior high, and Bishop Carroll senior high school.

The area is unique in the diversity of local amenities. With the Currie Barracks located to its’ east, there is a profound amount of military history contained within these borders. The Mt. Royal University is also found immediately south in Lincoln Park with numerous events held at its’ amphitheatre year-round. The Richmond Green tennis courts and golf course are located slightly northeast of Rutland Park. There are also dozens and dozens of smaller businesses that populate surrounding communities – grocery stores, restaurants, gyms, commercial offices, and shopping opportunities.

Calgary Transit offers a dozen bus stops to Rutland Park seen along Sarcee Rd, Richardson Way, and 37^th street.
