Strathcona Park

The mature neighborhood of Strathcona Park has the privilege of acting as home to over 7,000 Calgarians spread across the residential area surrounding the centre park that the community has come to be known for. Tucked in between Bow Trail to the north, Sarcee Trail to the east, Strathcona Drive and the community of Christie Park to the south, and 85^th Street to the west, developments began circa 1980 and the area has since gone on to amount to a collection of beautiful single-family detached homes that welcome members of the higher income bracket of the Calgary work force.

Public school students are fortunate to have the Olympic Heights elementary school within its’ borders. Upon completing their elementary education here, they are then assigned to attend Glamorgan junior high and Henry Wise Wood senior high school. Meanwhile, Catholic school students are afforded the same benefits with John W. Costello elementary located in their neighborhood. Catholic school students are then assigned to attend St. Michael/ St. Gregory junior high and then Bishop Carroll/St. Mary’s senior high school.

Strathcona Park has a number of major transportation routes surrounding it including 17^th Avenue which will take a resident from their front door directly into the heart of downtown Calgary. Follow the Sarcee Trail south and within a matter of seconds, one will be plunged into a collection of dozens and dozens of boutiques, chains, shops, and commercial establishments that would meet nearly every need of a resident. The elevated plateau that the community sits on gives atmospheric views of the city that lies in front of it as well as the Elbow and Bow River Valleys. Multiple parks occupy the surrounding area and there’s much green space accessible to the whole family. There are a variety of activities for children, adults and seniors which include martial arts, scouts, dance, bridge, art, fitness classes and MORE. The tennis courts, hockey rink, skating pond, and soccer fields are also a popular destination used throughout the year for many families.

The panoramic Strathcona Drive and Strathcona Boulevard contain over a dozen Calgary Transit that are strategically placed to accommodate residents from any property in the neighborhood. Willing to take you far and wide across the city, a resident can get anywhere in the city in a matter of minutes through Calgary Transit service.
